In grade 6 ICT,studentswill begin by introducing the most current computer applications of the day. The first section will cover the three core apps in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Upon completion,theywill understand the basics of these applications and be able to use them effectively with ongoing school projects and assignments.Theirnext section will concentrate on imaging.Theywill be using Adobe Photoshop and learn its most important functions to help us produce original media assets. Finally,Theywill study video editing techniques through Final Cut Pro. Theywill understand the fundamentals of video editing and learn how to create, clip, and edittheirvery own personalized video.
In grade 7 ICT class，studentswill continuetheirskill development in application software targeting word processing, presentation, database, video, spreadsheets, the internet, block programming, and email. This course is designed to use the advanced features of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Video Editor. You will successfully integrate programs of Microsoft Office and apply them to ongoing school projects. The impact of computers on society and ethical issues will also be presented. By the end of the course, you will understand what it means to be a productive digital citizen.
In grade 8 ICT class,theywill begin to introduce and focus more on computer science rather than computer applications. During the first weeks, students will obtain a basic understanding of how computers work, how networks function, and what a typical desktop consists of. The class will also introduce computer programming, focusing mainly on Python.Theywill use programming unit to develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Students will successfully solve real-world problems with the help of coding. With our culminating project, we will develop a creative and engaging computer game.
