In grade 6,students will study the use of form, color, texture and space as arts language, to describe a three-dimensional modeling method, suitable to their own tools and materials. Students should record and express what they see and hear, what they feel and think, and develop the ability of art conception and creation, by transferring their thoughts and emotions.Students should try to use different modeling expression methods (such as realistic, deformation, exaggeration, decoration, etc.) to describe things and express emotions.They will learn contrast, harmony, and other color knowledge, as well as simple painting composition and perspective knowledge.
Grade 7 builds upon the foundational skills presented in grade 6. Students will further develop their understanding of the use of form, color, texture, space, light and shade, and other art languages, appropriate tools, materials, in the form of painting and sculpture, explore the different creation methods, developed through individual expression, and by transfer of their own thoughts and emotions.Students will choose realistic, deformed and abstract ways to carry out modeling and expression activities, to describe things and express feelings and thoughts.
In grade 8, students will finish their middle school study of Eastern Art. Having developed their understanding of many topics and skill sets, students will produce a gallery exhibition, demonstrating their deep knowledge of the use of form, color, texture, space, light and shade, and other art languages, appropriate tools, materials, in the form of painting and sculpture, explore the different creation methods, developed through individual expression, and by transfer of their own thoughts and emotions. Students will learn about the perspectives, color, composition, proportion and structure to improve the performance of modeling. Students will be learning to sketch Traditional Chinese paintings, colored paintings, printmaking and other expression methods, and practice painting.
