在春夏交接的时节，清华附中稻香湖校区举办了第一届“数学科学周”。师生们开展了一系列丰富多彩的活动，从不同角度感受了自然的魅力和世界的奇妙秩序。这一周（5月10日-14日）里，每天都有不同活动主题，其中包括装饰日、阅读日、密室逃脱日、探索日和展示日等等。全校学生共同体验了多姿多彩的科学数学活动。下面，让我们一起聆听来自学生的声音！

During the transition from spring to summer, Tsinghua High School Daoxianghu Campus held the first "Math and Science Week". Teachers and students experienced the charm of nature and the wonderful order of the world around them from different aspects. During a week (May 10-14) with daily themes, students experienced a wealth of activities. Let's hear how they felt about it through their own words.

数学科学周以周一早上的集会揭开序幕。周二，我们阅读一些数学和科学相关的书籍，还参加了一个颜色变化的活动。周三是密室逃脱，我们通过解答一连串相关的数学题逃出密室。我们在周四做了冰激凌，老师用一种气体将冰激凌冻起来了，好好吃。最后一天最有趣！我们看到了很多同学做的项目和展示，都超好玩。
Math and Science Week began with an opening ceremony on Monday. On the second day, we read some books about math and science, and there was a color-changing project. The third day was the escape room with math puzzles. The fourth day we made ice cream. They used a gas to make the ice cream freeze and it tasted good. The last day was the most fun day. We looked at the works made by others. They were very interesting.

装饰日 Decoration Day

我最喜欢的是周一装饰日，因为我们可以自己在科学课上设计装饰。这让我们找到了真实参与主导活动的感觉。所以，我觉得这比老师带领我们做荧光灯和冰激凌实验更有趣。后来我们真的在一楼看到了我们的作品，真是好有成就感！
The favorite part for me in the whole week is decoration day on Monday, because we got to design the ornaments by ourselves in science class, so it felt like we actually got to participate in all the work and take the lead, which was much more interesting than making glow sticks and the ice cream lab where the teachers kind of did everything. We later really saw the work we made on the first floor, so it truly gives us a sense of accomplishment too.
液氮实验 Liquid Nitrogen Lab

上周所有的活动都很有趣。我最喜欢的是液氮实验，因为我们可以吃到冰激凌。当老师把液氮倒到地上的时候真的好酷！还有，原来液氮放到纸上的时候，那张纸会迅速干掉而且保持平整。
Last week was Math and Science week, all the activities were really fun. My favorite activity was the liquid nitrogen lab because we got to eat ice cream. And it was really cool when the teacher poured the liquid nitrogen on the ground. I also learned that if liquid nitrogen is poured on paper, the paper would dry quickly and it would be flat when it is dried.

我喜欢周四的液氮冰激凌实验，这是Fatima Hachem老师给我们演示的。老师先把冰激凌放在几个盘子里，然后把液氮倒进去，接下来好多“白云”在盘子上面漂浮，有些液氮掉到地上，就会有好多“小白虫”一样的东西在地上滚，然后整个教室变得“冷冷冷”！至于冰激凌，虽然看上去跟普通冰激凌一样，但是尝起来却跟平时不一样。每个人只能吃一小块，希望下次我们可以吃多一点。
I love the Liquid Nitrogen ice-cream on Thursday. It was made by Ms. Fatima Hachem. The teacher first put the ice cream in the model placed in the tray, and then poured the liquid in. And then a lot of white “clouds” floated out of the tray! There are even some small “bugs” like liquid stuff running on the floor! The whole room became cold-cold-cold! And the ice-cream, well, it looked just normal ice-cream, but tasted very different from the usual kind. Each person can only have a little bit, so I hope that next time we could have more.

水压火箭 Water Rocket

我喜欢在科学课上做火箭的活动，因为这是我第一次做一个可以发射的火箭，而且我们的火箭居然飞过了2/3个足球场！
I like building the rocket in science class because it is my first time trying to make a rocket that could shoot. And the result is the rocket went across 2/3 of the soccer field!

荧光实验 Glow Stick Lab

我喜欢荧光实验，虽然那些东西很小，但是可以通过化学反应体现他们存在在这个大大的世界里。而且，这个实验可以告诉我们，当这些小分子感到“高兴”或者“伤心”时，他们会做各种各样的变化，比如颜色、温度、液体的多少等等。真有趣！
I like the glow stick lab because it is a small thing that the chemical reaction shows in the big world. And it also tells me what will happen if this small stuff begins to feel “happy” or “sad” -- it will change its color, temperature, the amount of liquid. It is so interesting.

纪录片 Documentary

我最喜欢的活动是第一天午饭后观看纪录片。因为那时，我可以放轻松，坐下来，和朋友们一起看一个小视频。而且纪录片都很有意思。
My favorite part was in the first day where we had a small documentary after lunch. It is because I get to sit down, relax, and watch a small movie with my friends. The documentary was interesting and funny.

密室逃脱日 Escape Room Day

我喜欢密室逃脱，因为它充满挑战。我记得当我们看到一堆资料时，我们并没有去关注那张有步骤的纸，而是去解答数独和魔方难题。当我们把题都结完了之后，不知道那些答案跟密码有什么关系。但是，当我们发现那张“步骤纸”之后，把找到的线索都联系到一起，就逃出密室了！有些事情单独看是没有意义的，但是如果我们把身边的东西联系起来，好多问题都迎刃而解！密室逃脱给了我“多思考周围事物关联”的思维方式，我感到很高兴。
I love the escape room, because it is pretty hard and challenging. I remember that at first when we saw the materials, we didn’t focus on the sheet that had the steps. We just tried to solve the sudoku and the Rubik’s Cube. After we finished, we didn’t really know how it was related to the password. However, after we found the “step paper”, we combined all the clues together, and we figured it out. Some things make no sense when we see them separately, but if we put them altogether, all puzzles solved! It has inspired me to try to connect as much as I can when I think.

趣味知识竞赛 Quiz Bowl

我喜欢趣味知识竞赛。在竞赛里，我们带着乐趣学习，学习了很多关于数学和科学的知识，比如是谁总结出了伟大的元素周期表等等。而且，我们可以和附中本部的学长们一起学习也很好玩，我们讨论了很多问题和以前不知道的知识细节，聊得很开心！
I like the Quiz Bowl. We had a competition and learned with fun. It allows me to know more about math and science. Such as “who made the Periodic Table of Elements” And learning with elder students from the Fuzhong Campus is also really fun. We can have really interesting conversations and talk about the questions or details which we don’t know about.

数学科学秀 Student Show

我最喜欢的是周五的数学科学秀，因为我们可以学到不少新东西，观看一些有趣的实验。我们还看到了一个“我的世界”版本的稻香湖校园，模型的细节和逼真度把我惊到了！我感觉那天不管是展示的同学还是观看的同学，每个人都玩得很开心。
My favorite activity is Friday’s math and science show. This is because we learnt some new things, and watched some interesting experiments. We saw a Minecraft version of our school, which was surprisingly detailed and realistic. Everyone seemed to have a great time, both the students who presented and the students who watched.

刚刚结束的数学科学周，带给了我们无限乐趣。通过观看科学影片，我们了解了野生动物的趣味和他们的行为习惯，“神奇荧光药水”十分震撼，除此之外，我们还用彩纸做了立体图形等等。虽然数学科学周已经过去，但我们还对这些活动记忆犹新。老师们为我们的活动认真努力地准备，同学们积极热情地参与。超待下一次的数学科学周！
The just-concluded Mathematical Science Week brought us unlimited fun. The science film introduced us to the fun of wild animals and their behaviors. The magic liquid shocked us. We also used colored paper to make three-dimensional figures and so on. Although the Math Science Week has passed, it still leaves us with fresh memories. The teachers worked hard to prepare for the activities, and students participated enthusiastically. Looking forward to the next time!
