Established in 2020, the Arts & Design Program of THISDL is designed for middle and high school students passionate about art and design, offering a specialized curriculum that balances preparation for art programs at domestic high schools with international arts education.

When Mr. Cui Zhongyuan first visited THISDL, he was still teaching at another school in Beijing. That day, he brought his students here to take the Haidian District physical education test. As the bus pulled into the campus, he was surprised by the spacious grounds, modern buildings, and well-equipped facilities. “I remember thinking at the time, ‘Is this really a school? It’s practically a palace.’”

In Haidian, Beijing, education is always a topic that cannot be avoided. This area is home to the nation’s finest educational resources, as well as the most intense anxiety surrounding education. From the moment children enter elementary school, they seem to be thrust into a complex and vast competitive system. School admissions, rankings, competitions, and resumes—every milestone keeps families on edge. For many parents, education is not only a process of nurturing their children’s growth but also a long-term test of their own self-awareness.

Now that the high school entrance exam results have been released, the college application process has entered a critical phase. Recently, we have received a large number of inquiries from students and parents—ranging from admissions policies and scholarship applications to curriculum, daily management, and college planning—and each question reflects a family’s careful consideration of their child’s future development.
